D-R VLADIMIR DUGALICH, THE ONLY SURGEON IN THE REGION WHO CARRIES OUT INTERVENTIONS WITH A METHOD REGISTERED IN THE WORLD MEDICAL HISTORY, PART OF THE TEAM WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY AT NEUROMEDICA HOSPITAL

D-r Vladimir Dugalich, a General surgeon, is the only surgeon in the region to perform the “liver tunnel” technique, an intervention that has so far been implemented on more than 20 patients and is being carried out only in Serbia, the home country of D-r Vladimir Dugalich, as well as in Milan, by D-r Guido Torzilli, the father of this technique. The “liver tunnel” technique is most commonly used in colorectal cancer with liver metastases with inconvenient location.

D-r Dugalich has first witnessed this technique in an operating room in Milan, on a personal invitation from D-r Torzilli, and has first applied it in 2017 in Serbia, becoming the second surgeon in the world and the only one in this region to perform it.

The international professional experience in treating diseases of the abdominal organs such as: liver transplantation, living-donor liver transplantation, pancreatic resection, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, types of gastric resection, all types of resection of the small bowel and the colon, bilateral adrenalectomy and nephrectomy, makes D-r Vladimir Dugalich an exceptional surgeon able to treat the most complex cases.

In his rich international education and experience, he has visited world-renowned clinics and centers such as Venice, London, Paris, Verona, Zürich, Heidelberg, as well as Nagoya (Japan) with the leading international experts in Transplant Surgery, the Japanese professors, d-r Masatoshi Makuuchi and d-r Akimasa Nakao, where he was having practice in living-donor liver transplantation. D-r Vladimir Dugalich will apply his education, knowledge and experience also at Neuromedica Hospital.
